A Day in the Life of Lily

My entry for the third/final round of #EmoteOCs's Emoticon Pageant contest .

Allow me to take you in a little tour in a day of Lily's life.

Lily is praying salat al-Fajr (i.e. the dawn's prayer ) .She performs all her prayers in time . Her faith is the secret of her happiness.

The next thing Lily does is doing her chores . She does the dishes ,laundry ,clean the house and she also do some gardening .

It's fun time . Lily likes to go out with friends ..mostly in journeys to visit some ancient or natural landmarks . Despite that is not a daily routine for Lily ,but she does that frequently that's why I put it here.

Evening . Lily is now sitting in front of her PC . Browsing her favorite site or making some new art projects.

Artist's Comment :

Wow !! That wasn't easy to make …but it was a lot of fun.

I wish if we could add more panels. I had a lot of ideas for scenes from Lily's life ..but I had to choose only four.

When I checked the other entries I thought : "God !! I think I took this a little too seriously " . I spent a lot of time on details in every panel , but that's what made me love each one of them so much that I'm thinking of submitting it as a separate deviation .

Here are some babbling info about this piece :

I made my own pixel patterns for this . I used *JessicaCasciotta tutorial to make the general background . Then I made patterns for the wall paper and the curtains ^_____^

I didn't know how to make the dawn colors . I searched for a beautiful picture of sunrise and picked the colors from it . Does it look like a sunrise to you ?

Lily is wearing her hijab to pray . Please don't make any remarks like : "if she wears hijab during praying then she should wear it outside too" .. Let's just say that the rules in the emote-world are different

As I always say ,I HATE PERSPECTIVES !!

It wasn't easy to make in pixels and it doesn't look good .So I just neglected it.

I used `Mirz123 pixel grass pattern and edited it a bit to make the grass of the second panel . Lily is planting some lilies or daffodils .

The waterfall here was totally inspired by Ashawa waterfall that I've visited in my trip to the north of Iraq with ~Beeshoand other friends . Making that waterfall was a hard task ..and I'm still not completely satisfied with the result.

The light-blue emote is taking pictures of the scene ,in case you were wondering !! ^_^

I think I overdid the details of deviantart page here . I screen-capped my profile and used it to pick all the colors of dA . If you could zoom it ..You'll notice them.

The little blue book next to Lily is an Oxford English-Arabic dictionary that I use sometimes. I prefer printed dictionaries over digital/software ones.

Lily is using a tablet instead of a mouse . That's what I do . It's more comfortable that way

I wanted to put a cat eating in the middle of the floor in the 4th panel to fill some space ..but I couldn't make the eating-pose right and it kept looking odd ..so I removed it . I think that I'll go with the panel the way it is now.

The books here were clipped from my Falling in Love .I was too lazy to pixelate new ones

BTW, Did you recognized one of the dolls in the library ?
